Casemate Z: The history of Naarden

Naarden was fought over a lot; in 1572 the Spaniards conquered the town and murdered the population. Exactly one hundred years later the French troops of King Louis XIV walked the streets of Naarden, as did the soldiers of Napoleon around 1810. The French emperor himself visited Naarden in 1811, during an inspection of the Dutch fortifications. Dioramas bring to life several periods of history.
